Understand rukzuk’s concept of layouts and pages

  • The layout serves as a template for pages. It contains all static elements that will show up on all pages, typically things like header and footer.

  • Additionally, layouts can contain an unlimited number of page block areas. Any modules within those areas (marked italic) can be inserted as a page block on individual pages. They serve as building blocks for pages.

  • In page mode you can only insert pre-defined page blocks. Work with modules and styles in layout mode.

  • You can set editing rights for all modules and styles (even if they're not in a page block area)

  • If you give editors access to page mode, they can work on content blocks you defined, but not change the layout.
